The world’s oceans are the engine of life on our planet, providing oxygen, food, fresh water, mineral cycling, commerce and recreation. Ocean biomass far exceeds all the rest of the biomass on our planet. Coral Reefs are a critical part of the worlds’ oceans. More fish1than one quarter of all marine life is dependent on coral reefs for survival, much of which provide food for humans and form the balance of life on earth. Reefs are the nursery for life in the ocean.

Current research shows that much of our ocean environment is threatened by human activities, from over-fishing to abuse of reef nurseries. PBS is committed to helping with efforts to renew, conserve and restore reefs. We are dedicating our abilities as scientists and technologists fish2in underwater videography and photography to the study, documentation and remediation of tropical reefs, their plight and efforts to restore this endangered natural resource.
